Micro-export is a simplified method where shipments below a certain value and weight threshold are sent abroad without a customs broker, via an authorized express carrier or the postal service, with an ETGB (Electronic Trade Customs Declaration). A December 4, 2025 change raised the limits from €15,000 / 300 kg to €30,000 / 600 kg. This tool shows whether your shipment fits these current limits and your limit usage. Micro-Export Limits 2026: €30,000 and 600 kg

Micro-export is subject to two independent thresholds: per-shipment value cannot exceed €30,000, and weight cannot exceed 600 kg. These limits were doubled from the previous €15,000 / 300 kg by the December 4, 2025 regulation. The thresholds are per shipment (not annual) and independent of each other: if either is exceeded, that shipment falls outside micro-export and must use the full (standard) export procedure. What Is ETGB, Is a Customs Broker Needed?

ETGB (Electronic Trade Customs Declaration) is the electronic declaration used in micro-export. The key convenience: the declaration is filed not by you but by the authorized express carrier (PTT, DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc.) on your behalf via indirect representation. This avoids customs-broker, warehousing and exit-declaration costs; since it is fully digital, most shipments clear within hours. An e-archive export invoice must be issued in foreign currency, with the HS code, at 0% VAT (export exemption).

What If the Shipment Exceeds the Limit?

If your shipment exceeds €30,000 or 600 kg, there are two routes: split the shipment to fit the limits, or switch to full export. Full export requires an export declaration, a customs broker and exporters'-union procedures, so it is costlier and slower but suitable for high-value/heavy, regular shipments. For low-value, piece-by-piece e-commerce shipments, micro-export is advantageous in speed and cost. What is the micro-export limit in 2026?

Per the December 4, 2025 change, the per-shipment value limit is €30,000 and the weight limit is 600 kg. The previous limits were €15,000 and 300 kg; they were doubled.

Are the limits annual or per shipment?

Per shipment, not an annual total. Each shipment qualifies for micro-export as long as it is below €30,000 and 600 kg.

What if one of the value or weight limits is exceeded?

The two thresholds are independent; if either is exceeded, the shipment falls outside micro-export. You then need to split the shipment or use the full (standard) export procedure.

Who files the ETGB, is a broker needed?

The ETGB is filed not by you but by the authorized express carrier (PTT, DHL, UPS, FedEx, etc.) on your behalf via indirect representation. So no customs broker is needed; that is the core convenience of micro-export.

How is the invoice issued in micro-export?

An e-archive invoice is issued to the foreign buyer in foreign currency, stating the HS code, at 0% VAT (export exemption). Issuing it in English with the buyer's full address eases customs.

Can VAT be reclaimed in micro-export?

Yes. Input VAT you incurred can be reclaimed under the export exemption. The reclaim requires a closed (cleared) ETGB, the export invoice, and proof the proceeds were brought in via the banking system.

Does this tool give a binding result?

No, it is for information only. For shipments near the threshold, confirm the FX and limit calculation with your authorized carrier or accountant.
